... WINDY CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER EXPECTED SUNDAY...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING EAST ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES REGION WILL DRAG A COLD FRONT THROUGH CENTRAL INDIANA BEGINNING EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT A TIGHT PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL ALLOW STRONG WINDS ALOFT TO MIX TO THE SURFACE AT 20 TO 25 MPH SUSTAINED WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH. THE FRONT IS PROJECTED TO CROSS CENTRAL INDIANA THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY... BRINGING CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WIND GUSTS... LARGE HAIL... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. BEHIND THE FRONT... STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO MIX DOWN WITH GUSTS AROUND 40 MPH.

This was posted by the NMCA on their Facebook page:

Want to let everyone who is racing this weekend that as of now (Friday 3 PM) we are considering running only one round of qualifying tomorrow (not two, as scheduled) and then going into a "hurry up" mode and run as many elimination rounds as we can. The reason? A storm system is expected to bring strong to severe weather and heavy rains to the region on Sunday. Please keep in mind this weather si
tuation is evolving, and may change, however, we wanted to let competitors know that there is a strong possibility that the above scenario will occur if the current forecast trend continues. In the event the race cannot be completed Sunday, we WILL race Monday. We will post more updates as a final decision nears, which probably will be tomorrow morning.

The plan above is the deal. We'll run round 2 of Q and then go straight into eliminations. With a ton of luck we'll get it all in today...

You would think that this is important news and would be posted on the front page of this site

Sorry about that, between posting all the updates on the front page, the forum page, our FB page and updating on Yellowbullet we somehow missed that and shouldn't have.

The official plan at this point is to race throughout the night and try and complete this race as much as we can before the moisture gets here tomorrow. This is due to the severe weather coming that (at this point) indicates strong winds going into Monday.

Maybe the smart thing to do is post in one location. Then everybody would know where to go to look for updates and not have to go to 4 different places to make sure they're not missing something.

Jusr a thought.

Don't make it harder then what it is !

With all due respect, that's what we used to do and would get nothing but grief about it. Sometimes you do need to lead a horse to water.

In the end, hopefully everyone that truly needed this info found it, either through multiple channels, or over the PA numerous times today.
