So NMCA when is he going to get hit with it.As far as I can see any time a NOS car went fast they got dealt with by adding weight. You all saw the writing on the wall in Indy last year and now he flying again.I hate to bitch but come on.

So either take 200lbs off all NOS combos, hang 200lbs on the new vortech combos or just plain throw out the new X Trim.If you allow this to continue say goodbye to XS.See the thread below this one.I have spoken with a few other NOS combos and they may not come back because of this. We will be in Maryland but we are thinking of going in a different direction later this year.
Camping World has a sale on Honda generators until May 6th. These are in a totally different class than those five times the size, but 2/3 the price. I ran one that kept 2 16 volt chargers, a 12 volt charger, and a coffee maker going. 8 hours on a tank of gas, no hernia picking up, and I Ran it all weekend in the pits and never heard it. A 100 year old lady can start it. 3 year warranty, plus two additional years for $99 bux. The Honda motor is indestructible and will last far longer than that clanger People set in your pits because it is too noisy for theirs. They turn off by cutting fuel at carb. I'm big time sold on these as a portable generator. Quality doesn't cost, it pays.

I am very pleased to announce that NMCA WEST was able to work with NHRA and the Fairplex to bring a street legal drag racing event to Auto Club Raceway of Pomona! This NMCA WEST event is the only drag race at Pomona outside of the NHRA national events. Adding to the excitement is the fact that all NMCA WEST racers will be competing for an NHRA Wally!

All of us at the NMCA WEST Street Car Series work hard to provide racers and fans with the best muscle car motorsport shows in the West. Thank you for any help you can give getting the word out.
Sincerely,
2. So I understand it correctly, I have to run a front driver seat AND passenger seat and they both can be a light weight racing seat correct? As long as they function correctly.
We left at 9:15AM on Wednesday the 11th and arrived at the track at 2:30am Thursday. In the morning I started the generator and it shut off 5 minutes later giving an error code 36. Whipped out the manual and it said it was a fuel issue. We knew it wasn't a filter as we change the filters after every race (the generator has 4200 hours on it), so we replaced the fuel pump with a spare we had. That didn't work so we spent hours trying new grounds and other tests/fixes -- then resigned ourselves that the $695 control board is shot. Called Cummins, and they laughed about coming to the track to repair -- and that maybe they could fit us in this week. We resigned ourselves that it was another week in the dark, and without heat and AC. Thursday night it got to 37 outside and 42 in the motor home. Anyway -- we just sucked it up and worked through it, with the help of Doug Duell powering the chargers for the cars' batteries and allowing me to put the coffee maker in his trailer.

Friday we were suppose to have two time trials and two qualifying passes. The track got way behind with accidents, oil downs and a couple of True Street cars hosing down the track with Antifreeze. We got in a pair of Time Trials. My car ran 9.61 and 9.63 -- so it looked like the 9.50 index was out and that I'd have to slow down to the 9.75 index. Dallas was pretty close to the 9.75 index with his car. There were 16 NSS cars. In the first round of qualifying Dallas did a 9.756 and was Top Qualifier. I completely screwed up the launch and was off 1/10 on the 60' -- doing a 9.800. That was all she wrote for Friday.

Saturday we were suppose to do the last qualifying and at least one elimination. However they were so far behind from Friday that we instead were scheduled for the last two Qualifying passes. Everything went so smooth with the track that they gave us a bonus 4th. I managed a 9.760 -- which got me 5th. Dallas didn't improve his 9.756 and was 2nd or third. However my car was spraying oil badly under the hood since the first run of the morning. Most of it was coming from the timing cover -- which had the electric water pump and elephant ears ahead of it. We'd tighten the cover bolts after every round and permatexted the seams -- but high RPMs would start to blow the oil again.

Sunday I had someone that wasn't close to running his number. However, one drop of oil was seen after my light burnout and another spotted hanging when they looked under to see if it was me. I was backed out, and my competitor was 3/10 too slow. ARRRRRGH! Dallas one against Bud Cochran -- who also ran a c/fx car. The cars were al slow Sunday -- so everyone was pulling out whatever they could. Dallas was able to remove the passenger seat and a few other pounds here and there. In the next round Dallas took out Doug Poskevitch -- who was the points leader. That helped a lot of us. In the Semis Dallas lost when Kurt Neighbor had a better RT.

My mental calculations has Dallas in first with Doug Duell, Kurt Neighbor, and Doug Poskevitch within 50 points. I should be a couple 100 behind in 5th.

My car is the last one down the track in the below video.

;

Our generator crapped out. Last time it wasn't the generator but the inverter.

This time it is giving error code 36, which the service manual says is fuel system. The computer detects the engine running too slow and shuts it off. It says rp,ace the fuel filter, which we did, then do a flow test by unhooking the line and priming into a jar. The pump wasn't coming on although a test light shows power to it.

We have a spare fuel pump, and bolted it in. But no good. It too has power to it, but doesn't run. I find it hard to believe that an old and a new pump are both bad - but I don't know what else to think if they're getting power but not running.

If there is anyone coming to the track that is near a Onan generator parts dealer and can get a part number 0149-2790 fuel pump for us, please give me a call at 713-899-7704

SANTA ANA, Calif. — It was announced today that NHRA, Aerospace Components, and ProMedia, the parent company of the NMCA, will once again combine...

SANTA ANA, Calif. — It was announced today that NHRA, Aerospace Components, and ProMedia, the parent company of the NMCA, will once again combine forces and continue the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed series in conjunction with the NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals event series. Outlined in a multi-year agreement reached between the NHRA and ProMedia, the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed Series will again be contested at all NHRA Member Tracks on the 2012 NMCA and NMCA WEST tour. NMCA events include: Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA. (April 12-15); Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA (June 22-24); Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. (July 12-15); Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Ky. (Aug. 3-5); Milan Dragway, Milan, Mich. (Aug. 24-26); Speedworld Dragstrip in Wittman, AZ. (Sept. 21-23); Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, (Oct. 11-14); and Royal Purple Raceway, Houston (Nov. 9-11). The originally scheduled NMCA WEST season opening event planned for Auto Club Dragway at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana (April 20-22) has been postponed due to a recent court ruling temporarily halting all drag racing activity at the facility. As a result of this development NMCA WEST will begin the season at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA (June 22-24).

NMCA WEST and NHRA officials are diligently working together to relocate and reschedule this race. The NMCA WEST finals remain on the schedule for October 19-21. NMCA and NHRA have developed a contingency strategy to contest the event at an alternative California facility.

Once again all official NMCA class winners will be eligible to receive an NHRA “Wally” at each of the Aerospace Components Unleashed events contested at NHRA-sanctioned facilities. NMCA and NMCA WEST series champions will receive the double-tiered championship Wallys at the season ending awards ceremonies in Orlando, Florida and Pomona, California courtesy of the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed program.

Aerospace Components will continue to sponsor NHRA Unleashed, providing added benefits to the NMCA Flowmaster event series, which includes more than $3.1 million purse and cash contingencies for all ten events. “We are honored to be a 2012 major sponsor of NMCA and NMCA WEST, which will both feature NHRA Unleashed,” says Kim Kussy, of Aerospace Components Inc. “We look forward to working alongside the NMCA and NMCA WEST teams and their great family of racers.”

“I continue to remain excited about the NHRA’s interest in reaching out to the growing heads-up and index drag racing market. The NMCA welcomes the opportunity to work directly with NHRA to carry on their support for heads-up and index drag racing,” said Charlie Harmon, president of ProMedia Events. “Over the years, NHRA has developed some amazing resources and all of us here at the NMCA are thrilled to have the support of the NHRA. The multi-year support of Aerospace NHRA Unleashed series demonstrates there is no doubt that NHRA is continuing their long-standing commitment to sportsman drag racing everywhere.”

“The heads-up, index segment of drag racing represents part of the very core in which NHRA was founded on. We are thrilled for the opportunity to carry on our relationship with the NMCA and continue to include the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed series as a part of the Flowmaster/NMCA Muscle Car Nationals event series,” said Ray Wilkings, of NHRA.

By combining resources, NHRA and NMCA will provide an opportunity for racers to take advantage of both organizations’ many benefits and services from coast to coast. The same opportunities can be extended to sponsors providing the opportunity to reach out to a much broader group of participants and fans alike.

ProMedia has been the leader in street-legal events and publishing since 1999, the first year of the NMRA Ford Nationals and Race Pages magazine. Fastest Street Car (FSC) was introduced in 2001 and ProMedia purchased the NMCA in 2003, quickly turning it into the number one all-domestic street-legal muscle car series in the U.S. Today NMCA has the most fans, racers, sponsors, and contingency support in the hugely popular muscle car segment. All NMCA events include awesome heads-up street-legal drag racing, huge all-domestic car shows, giant manufacturers midways and swap meets, 300+ mph jet cars, burnout contests, and much more!
