Due to circumstances presented at the recent event at Pomona, which were beyond our control, qualifying needed to be conducted in an eighth-mile format to create a fair and even playing field for all involved. Since that was the case, the NMCA WEST could no longer use quarter-mile indexes as the qualifying standard. Instead, reaction times from qualifying round one and qualifying round two were used to compute the qualifying points. At future NMCA WEST quarter-mile events we will revert back to the standard method of using the elapsed times against indexes to earn qualifying points.
