    Pro Stock Prelim 2013

    For the 2013 season the NMCA is looking to implement the new 2013 N\A 10.5 rules version for the Pro Stock category. Attached here are the preliminary rules for Pro Stock\NA 10.5.

    So wheelie bars are legal in Pro Stock?

    As per the rules that are posted yes maximum of 72" with no penalty! That's what I read

    Be nice to see this rule in X/S

    2.14- SUSPENSION REAR: Rear suspensions are permitted to be stock or use ladder bars at base weight. Coil over shocks are permitted front and rear. Shocks must be stand-alone and may not be adjustable during run via electronic and/or other means. Electronic programmable shocks prohibited. Electronic traction control not permitted. One fully adjustable shock per wheel permitted. After market four link rear suspensions are allowed with an additional weight.

    They were legal last year, 48 inches max length. We were the only ones that took the 50 pound weight adder for them, in our opinion, better safe than sorry.

    Well if they were legal last year why didn't the flood gates open from all the people that would not run until they were legal? Matt, Did they help or just make you feel safer and allow you to free up the car more?

    Not really sure why others did not show up. I would not say the bars made us any faster, but they did save us a few times where we would have done some serious damage had they not been there. Indy 2011 we did two that cost several thousand to repair, and that season we went to 3 or 4 races and smashed 3 oil pans at ~ $700 apiece,

    It sounded like a good move to add them. Maybe we will see more cars this year with the changes. Good Luck to you guys this year.
